Natura 2000
Sustainability
WHAT IS NATURA 2000?
The Natura 2000 network aims to ensure the long-term survival of particularly vulnerable species and habitats. This European initiative, which has also been implemented in France, aims to enhance the natural heritage of the region.
Natura 2000 establishes measures for the protection of natural habitats, and the management and regulation of bird species living naturally in the wild on the European territory of member states: prohibition of their trade, collection, capture or deterioration of their environment. With Natura 2000, the European Union protects almost 1,600 species of wild animals and plants, and over 600 species of birds.
